BENNY has a great YOUTUBE Idea that shows the meaning OF LOVE!

BENNY HAS A GREAT IDEA FOR YOUTUBE.. This is what I call LOVE.. serving and sharing with and for one another.

I support Benny's Campaign because I myself am considered a Little Tuber (You can see my videos on WWJW "What Would Jesus Watch" at www.youtube.com/jesusofzion )

Be sure to subscribe to my channel and also add Benny's as well because Benny expresses well how LOVE is spose to work! Thanks Benny.. this is in tribute to your great Idea!!!!!

DOES JESUS HAVE A PENIS?

DID I GET YOUR ATTENTION?????????????????????????????????????????????????

If you are a first time reader and you are reading this I guess I did …

…I just used what works best here on internet.. Good old traditional SHOCK VALUE…and I apologize to my readers for using this attention grabbing methodology…

…Call it my “Shock and Awe” campaign and YES, it was a cheap shot to get attention but what blogger does not want a few hits from those who might not otherwise tune into spiritual stuff!

I do answer the question at the end but please read the “in-between” part also.

It should be interesting to see just how many hits I get on this blog because it is obvious to me that most of the people who read Blogs seem to be drawn to Sex, Drugs and Silliness rather than things that actually might give them insight, wisdom or knowledge.

I am encouraged by those of you who have given this blog such wonderful comments considering how new I am on the BIG LEAGUE scene.. Thank you all!

My blog might be called the “Religious Blog for Non-religious people” since I want to reach out to those who would not ever step foot into a church. Or give God a thought..

Does it not say in the Bible GO INTO ALL THE WORLD?..

…Indeed ..it DOES!…

..So, if at times I might get a bit “worldly” for some or say things you don’t agree with.. Well, just understand that Jesus of Nazareth was a bit of a Rebel and hung out far more with the Sinners than the priests or saints.

I am sometimes discouraged by some of the other people who use the name “Jesus” on the internet. Some seem to often be more popular if they are sarcastic. One guy called “JESUS” on MySpace actually has well over 10,000 friends and seems to appeal more to those who wish to mock Jesus. I am not suggesting one needs to be all super-duper-worshipful but they should at least respect the person and name as someone worthy of ..well.. RESPECT!

Blogging often seems a thankless task….BUT … I LOVE IT!

I am not here to be the most read Blogger . I am here to be true to my personal calling and duty which is to speak my truth and be available to those who seek what I offer. The reader can alone decide what that means to them… To me that means the offering of a personal sacrifice of time and effort to declare what I believe and teach what I have learned.

I am making myself a willing servant, counselor, teacher and GIVER OF LOVE!

What makes me sad sometimes is that when I analyze what are the most popular and highly read blogs I am dismayed by the fact that most people actually seem to care more about things that really have little meaning or substance. Not that fun and trivial stuff is bad ..in fact I LOVE A GOOD LAUGH… but I’m sure if you look at the most Blogs on the internet today you won’t find many that really provide anything that will challenge or enlighten. Unless you think Gossip, Slander and Hate is enlightenment.

Now, I have a friends on various sites like MySpace , ShareNow and NowLive that I value very much. They are loyal and (agree or disagree) at least they take the time to actually do more than watch You-Tube clips of amateur “Jackass” stunts.

I consider my readers to be seekers of truth and people of higher than average intellect. I think of them as people who value Spiritual understanding and would have enjoyed sitting with “wise men” and discussing in depth the meaning of life and ways to be closer to “The Source” (AKA: God). Maybe I expect too much and maybe some are just here because they find me to be a curiosity.

… Still, I LOVE EACH OF YOU …for whatever reason you are reading my words.

144,000 is a number that means a great deal to me. Ultimately this number is the number of people who will actually heed the message I bring. YUP, that’s all that will respond and if you realize that there are now over 6 Billion people on earth right now that is less than .003% (three-100ths of 1 percent) who will ever really GET what I am about and saying.

Now, not all who hear my message will heed me at all.. No some will consider me a joke and others are too trapped in Religious dogma and doctrine and they will reject me because what I am saying does not comply with their preconceptions.

Many who will “get it” are Native American peoples (and other wise “knowers”) who know the truth but may never actually see or hear me until we get where we are going.

Sadly, everyone will be prompted at the proper time but most will either not believe their hearts calling.

I will continue to bring people what I feel is wisdom.

I will continue to teach those who will listen (realize I force none to do anything… nor do I use threat or intimidation).

I will continue to council those who need it and will continue to Blog regarding what I feel is God’s own messages to mankind.

I shall not cease this even if all were to abandon me and I became my only reader.

I cannot, nor shall I, give up because I made a commitment I intend to keep to My God and it is a commitment to warn man regarding how man could actually change the future… Or, at least SURVIVE if humanity decides not to.

Believe it or not my only gain for being here is to SAVE YOU ALL FROM YOURSELVES.

Yes, If you heed what I say when God turns on the “inner alarm” you will be “saved”.

I am not here to tell you WHEN this alarm will sound… I am here to tell you that IT WILL SOUND and what to do when it does.

You are my concern.

You are my commission.

YOU ARE MY REWARD!

…Yet, it is not that I am rewarded by possession of you… My reward is to give you back to yourselves so you might choose to unite with me and then with others and TOGETHER unite to YHWH, Father (God).

Yes, many of you think I am misguided or crazy. That is quite alright. All things will become apparent in time and if I am crazy at least I am doing it for all the right reasons…

…I AM DOING IT FOR YOU!

I have allowed myself to sacrifice myself to help you either save or be saved from this world.

I do it because I am called to do so.

I do it because I care about Our Fathers creation.

I do it knowing that most will doubt and condemn me for even trying.

I do it because I can do nothing else and find satisfaction.

I was created to do what I do and I willingly submit to it because it not only feels right.. .

To Me, IT IS RIGHT!

IT IS TRUTH!

IT IS THE ESSENCE OF SACRIFICIAL LOVE! (Is that not what it means to be “In Christ”?)

How many of you would do the same?

Now, just so I am not accused of avoiding the question posed in HEADER…

…“YES, I’m MALE… Of Course I DO! … NUFF SAID!”

BE LOVE & BE LOVED!

P.S… If you don’t presently subscribe to my Blog I offer it to you for your consideration. I don’t care if you buy what I say or not… But it’s gotta offer more substance than the vast majority of ranting blogs here on the internet and if you prefer the foolishness there’s this Blog by a guy named “Perez” that might be right up your ally .. LOL

AS IT WAS…SO SHALL IT BE.

AS IT WAS…SO SHALL IT BE.
AS IT IS… IS AS IT WAS.

THE CYCLE OF PROPHECY

The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun?
One generation passed away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abides for ever.
The sun also arises, and the sun goes down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
The wind goes toward the south, and turns about unto the north; it whirls about continually, and the wind returns again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
All things are full of labor; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:1 - 9

The Paradox of Time ____________________________________________________

The words you are now reading were in the future before you began and by the time you get to the end of this sentence the concepts that pass through your mind will be the past a millisecond after you read this last word.

The only rational thing we can say about the nature of time is that it passes and is only temporary, however even this is subject to scrutiny. Add to this is the phenomenon of "deja vu", a strange feeling that time is repeating itself, and prophecy, which if correct, is a vision of future time.

In times of great stress "your entire life", in full detail, can literally pass before your eyes. The normal movement through life sometimes produces the experience of being lost in thought, which makes the real world dissolve. And what is memory but a mental recall of time past?

Many cultures teach that life is based in cycles or CIRCLES OF TIME. When you look at a clock or examine the turning of the planets and their rotations this should not be too difficult to understand. It is written that “To EVERYTHING there is a SEASON” and the seasons come and go and come again…do they not?

Prophecy is also like the seasons. A careful look at the Bible will show how mankind again and again goes through similar times and events. Each time different and each time with different places and names but the similarities cannot be easily dismissed.

We know, for example, that the Bible clearly states that “As it was in the time of Noah (Noe) so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man”. As things were so shall they be again (at least until man gets it right).

So what about the OT Prophets? Were they referring to times immediately within their short-term future or were they speaking of the times we are now in?

I propose to you that in the eyes of God (YHWH) that there really IS NO TIME and that in fact all that has happened, will happen or is happening right this moment is only a single solitary moment in the eyes of He who is Infinite.

I realize this is a difficult idea and some of you are likely a bit lost because you are used to a Beginning, Middle and End concept of Time. This is called “Linier Time Theory” and by human standards is pretty much what we have been given to perceive… However God YHWH is not limited to 3-D concepts or it would show that God is not the great Unlimited power that Christians teach.

I sometimes use the concept of “3-D” versus “Unlimit-D”. When we try to make God fit inside our own wisdom we limit Him (who has no Limits).

Man is trapped in a 3-D world and can only reach 4-D if you are an astronaut and perhaps 5-D if you can comprehend what I am saying here and think spiritually rather than simply physical… However that is the fullest limit man can reach with our limited mind and currently limited spirit.

This is a huge concept to consider and far too deep for many to comprehend. Consider for just a moment what a 12-D world be like?.. How about a 35-D? Can you see it? Of course you can’t… what would be your points of reference? In fact, the minute I mentioned 4 or 5-D I lost some of you.

These are “meat” concepts and there are many among men who still cannot handle “milk”. By the way, do not judge men by what the eat… both physically OR SPIRITUALLY since often judgment only shows ignorance and some minds are better able to comprehend higher ideas than others. Resist the temptation to say such “higher thinking” is evil just because you don’t get it. We have too many judges and not enough spiritual “meat eaters” these days.

Now, believe it or not, I shared all that with you so that you can look at a piece of prophetic Scripture in its proper context. Since all prophecy is “Multi-D” and “Repeating” and not simply set in one time and place please read the following with new eyes. Some would say it concerns ONLY the past… I say it is likewise about the Future… and the NOW .

Only the names have changed and the wise and knowing will realize not by all that much. Those who read only with the mind will see only the past… those who read in the Spirit will know the future… and the Now!

Isaiah 45 (NIV)

Isaiah 45
1 "This is what the LORD says to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
2 I will go before you
and will level the mountains;
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
4 For the sake of Jacob my servant,
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
6 so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
men may know there is none besides me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other.
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.
8 "You heavens above, rain down righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness grow with it;
I, the LORD, have created it.
9 "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker,
to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
'What are you making?'
Does your work say,
'He has no hands'?
10 Woe to him who says to his father,
'What have you begotten?'
or to his mother,
'What have you brought to birth?'
11 "This is what the LORD says—
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?
12 It is I who made the earth
and created mankind upon it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;
I marshaled their starry hosts.
13 I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.
He will rebuild my city
and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,
says the LORD Almighty."
14 This is what the LORD says:
"The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,
and those tall Sabeans—
they will come over to you
and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,
coming over to you in chains.
They will bow down before you
and plead with you, saying,
'Surely God is with you, and there is no other;
there is no other god.' "
15 Truly you are a God who hides himself,
O God and Savior of Israel.
16 All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;
they will go off into disgrace together.
17 But Israel will be saved by the LORD
with an everlasting salvation;
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,
to ages everlasting.
18 For this is what the LORD says—
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited—
he says:
"I am the LORD,
and there is no other.
19 I have not spoken in secret,
from somewhere in a land of darkness;
I have not said to Jacob's descendants,
'Seek me in vain.'
I, the LORD, speak the truth;
I declare what is right.
20 "Gather together and come;
assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood,
who pray to gods that cannot save.
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
let them take counsel together.
Who foretold this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?
Was it not I, the LORD ?
And there is no God apart from me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none but me.
22 "Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone
are righteousness and strength.' "
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.
25 But in the LORD all the descendants of Israel
will be found righteous and will exult.

AS IT WAS SO SHALL IT BE AGAIN!

I have already written a series I published on my now deleted MySpace Blog called “Commentary on the Prophets “ in which I focus on the Book of Isaiah. You can access the first few installments at www.wwjsnl.com (under the appropriate tab there) if you wish to .

Because of it’s length I will be eventually be offering a FREE downloadable E-Book from this site just as soon as I finish the last few chapters and add a few new insights to the finished ones. When available I will announce it and post a link to get the FREE download (I do not charge for such things.. Just not my style). Those who followed the series seemed to enjoy my take on how the Book of Isaiah applies to today and TOMORROW (for is it not ALL one in the same in an UNLIMI-D way of thinking?).

A Debate between FLESH & SPIRIT!

FLESH

“Who am I?

“What am I?”

“Why am I here?”

“What is my purpose?”

“IS THERE A PURPOSE?”

“If there IS A PURPOSE then WHAT IS MY PURPOSE ?

PERHAPS ALL IS VANITY, SELFISHNESS & GREED…”

SPIRIT

“…Perhaps… and on this question we do not argue…”

FLESH

“I WAS TALKING ONLY TO MYSELF!”

SPIRIT

“But I am that SELF. You ARE me.”

FLESH

“Irrational, emotional and subjective…”

SPIRIT

“But no less true”

FLESH

“Prove it!”

SPIRIT

“Can’t you see the evidence?…

…It’s so clear…

…There is no end nor beginning to it.. It just “IS”!”

FLESH

“HUH?”

SPIRIT

“You have eyes but cannot see.”

FLESH

“You talk too much”

SPIRIT

“Look at things through ME and you cannot fail. ..

…Look only through your own eyes and you cannot succeed.”

FLESH

“you like to preach huh?

SPIRIT

“I like to instruct in wisdom.”

FLESH

“What do you get out of it?”

SPIRIT

“Joy…Truth…Peace… satisfaction….hope…knowledge and LOVE.”

FLESH

“…and what is the required investment?

SPIRIT

“It’s FREE… Yet it costs ALL THAT YOU ARE

“It gives FREEDOM… Yet requires becoming a servant”

FLESH

“But servitude is never Free ..

…It costs me energy and takes up my time and is it not slavery?”

SPIRIT

“To volunteer to serve is not slavery..

Because it is not demanded and the reward outweighs the investment.”

FLESH

“Prove it!”

SPIRIT:

“No problem..

…But you have to stop hanging around with my Ego and let me lead!”

FLESH

“Dang it you always win.. Why is that?”

SPIRIT

“Because I let God do the driving!”

IS ISRAEL GETTING READY FOR WAR?

JERUSALEM, July 31 (UPI) -- The United States is reported to have agreed to link Israel up to two advanced missile detection systems against a potential attack by a nuclear-armed Iran.

But, U.S. officials made it clear that while Washington was prepared to help Israel defend itself against Iranian missiles, it would not be involved in any Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear enrichment sites.

Military sources said Washington is expected to deliver within six months a powerful forward-based X-band FBX-T radar. DEBKAfile, an Israeli Web site, reported Thursday.

By putting a time frame around delivery, the Bush administration was said to be able to hold off a possible Israeli attack on Iran for as long as possible.

© 2008 United Press International, Inc.

Now read this carefully.. Realize also that in other one of todays other news stories also states the following:

"Olmert to resign Israel post
The prime minister, facing a corruption investigation, said he would quit after his political party found a new leader."

New leadership.. new systems to detect missles.. The US saying they will support Israel but in a round about way admitting that Israel is planning some type of pre-emptive attack on Iran.

Hm?.. I will let you all ponder what comes next but I encourage you to keep a close eye on Nationalist (Zionist) Israel... I think we just may see something go down even though many news services are predicting otherwise.

Blog Commenter Question: Do you feel Israel will launch a miltary strike against Iran.. and if you answer YES.. when would you predict this might occur?

BREAKING THE BIBLE CODES - Part 1

The Bible Code has become all the rage among many Hebrew and Christian scholars.

Bible code research is said to date back to at least the 12th century, when rabbinical scholars first wrote about discovering meaningful words hidden in the Hebrew text of the Torah.

Tradition among the most devout Jewish scholars holds that everything and everyone that ever was or ever will be was recorded in the text of the first five books of the Bible. Thus, as it was passed down letter by letter from God to Moses, then generation by generation to modern times, great care has been taken to preserve it intact. Rabbis encouraged caution in Torah copyists by reminding them that just one letter lost in their work could bring about the end of the world.

Only very slight changes have occurred in the original text over the 3,200 years since Moses first received it – a wonder that ranks among the great miracles of the ages.

It was during the last attempt to exterminate the Hebrew people, the final solution of the Holocaust, that Michael Ber Weissmandl , a Slovakian rabbi, continued his study of ancient writings by scholars who had found secret terms encoded in the Torah. But the Nazis were descending on his village, and the majority of his time was taken up with negotiating for the lives of people.

Rabbi Weissmandl, in fact, invented an outrageously bold scheme to ransom European Jews by bribing Nazi officials. The plan was workable, but no one could or would provide the $4 million the Germans demanded to save the lives of two million people, a mere $2 per person.

He himself was ultimately rounded up with his family and put on a death train to the camps. With him he took only a loaf of bread and three books, two copies of the Torah and a dusty commentary by a 13th century scholar mentioning the hidden codes. Alone, Weissmandl escaped the death train and eventually made his way to the U. S., where he was able to continue his research. And yet, he was tortured by grief. His devastating regret was that he had not been able to rescue even one of his children. He died of a broken heart in 1957.

Just a quarter of a century later, there was a fortuitous convergence of occurrences that were to move the codes from obscurity into the international spotlight. The war that brought death and devastation to so many lives also gave the world the most fiendishly clever code ever developed – Germany’s the Enigma Code. Breaking this code raised the study of statistics and probabilities to new heights, and brought about the invention of the computer.

Some time later, the advent of the personal computer made it possible to carry out searches for codes in seconds that had taken previously hours and even days to do. Researchers inspired by Weissmandl’s work, and using it as a starting point, began to develop the software necessary to perform these searches.

Thirdly, there was an awakening of faith among the brightest minds in Judaism. Previously atheistic or religiously disinterested scientists and intellectuals began to find themselves attracted to the most orthodox beliefs. As word of the codes spread around the world, many of these men began to devote themselves to study of the Torah and the unraveling of these codes.

Two of these scientists, a former physics graduate student, Doron Witztum, and a world-renowned mathematician, Eliyahu Rips, along with Yoav Rosenberg, an Israeli computer whiz, stunned the scientific world in 1994 with the publication of their paper on the codes in the journal Statistical Science.

This eventually resulted in the publishing of the First book “The Bible Code” by Michael Drosnin which was very popular when it first came out and which led to a follow up “The Bible Code 2” and many other subsequent books on this particular style of Code..

…But IS THIS STYLE OF CODE THE ONLY CODE IN THE BIBLE?

The Bible itself is really much more than religious ideas and stories and it should not take any major scholarship to quickly see that some books cannot be understood easily without knowing the codes used to write them.

Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel and in fact all the prophetic books (ESPECIALLY THE REVELATION OF JOHN) rely heavily on allegorical codes and if we were to assume to understand these books without the proper tools to decode them then any attempt to do so would be like trying to read a foreign language without a translator.

Unfortunately this is my major beef with the teachings of DISPENSATIONALISM.

Dispensationalism is a westernized, 18th Century LITERALIST attempt to decode the Bible without really having the writers original decoding texts or methodology.. Thus what is popularly being preached and taught these days in most of the worlds Conservative Christian churches is flawed (and has been for so long that the errors are accepted as truth.. Without question).

I was raised in these teachings myself and it took a great deal of time, sweat, doubt, prayers and even tears of frustration before I was willing to let go of the dogma and doctrine to seek the TRUTH of the Spirit.. In essence..

…LET GO AND LET GOD!

I waded through many waters of varied ideas , religions and faiths as I sought to know the truth. I had been taught all the popular precepts about the meanings of scripture but something always seemed missing or wrong… oh, it all made sense based on my western logic that wanted a candlestick to be a candlestick but as I read the prophecies I realized that sometimes a candlestick meant something else.. In fact there seemed to be a plethora of odd items and allegorical creatures that if literalized would make the Bible less believable than the stories of Mother Goose.

Eventually I felt God’s inner call to do what I am now doing but as I asked God to reveal the truth I was to bring forward I felt the loving and compelling voice within clearly reveal that I was to speak the truth regarding LOVE & ZION

Inwardly my spirit heard over and over again “They have polluted the truth with the dogma’s of men and have divided my Kingdom of Zion in their delusion”.

HUH?, thought I, “What could this mean?.. I know what love is and I have heard of Zion… even attending Zion Lutheran School where I played Flag Football as a “Zion Lion .. But what could this mean?”

I began to look into the meaning of “Zion” and what I eventually discovered was that indeed this “NEW JERUSALEM” was clearly revealed in the Bible.. YET it was nothing like what was being taught by almost every pastor, preacher or televangelist I had ever heard.. Why was this OBVIOUS teaching so misunderstood?

This led me to the PROPHECY CODES which are based in the mystic teachings of the Hebrews (called Kabala/Cabala/Kabala). Now I realize some feel these teachings are somehow evil but most who say that have never even studied the history or read a word of any Kabalistic book.. Dismissing it as occult witchcraft or some such verboten thingamajig.

As I studied these teachings I found my faith actually growing as I realized the amazing ideas and concepts and CODES that were revealed.

Realize the basic teachings of Kabala existed since long before the New Testament was written and it is quite apparent ..based on the allegories used in The Revelation …that John was an avid student of Kabalism and used the codes therein to hide the fullness of the meaning of these texts until the proper time for them to be revealed.. Which would be …THE END OF DAYS.

I will expand on some of these teachings more over time and I admit that much of Kabalism is so deep that most scholars of it admit that “It is a process of spiritual understanding of which there are no masters.. Only students.”

(QUICK NOTE: The major reason that kabalism was included as “verboten texts” by the catholic and subsequent Christian churches was 1) It was too deep for the deciding councils to understand and was of Jewish origin and 2) It ultimately teaches each person that they stand individually as their own priest before God and that no man is to rule over another… Realize that the catholic faith wanted CONTROL and POWER and upheld European control structures SO if something existed that took away this control.. It was deemed heretical, occultism, witchcraft and thus …EVIL)

(NOTE ALSO: Not all people claiming to teach Kabala are qualified to do so and as in any other faith or idea there are those who teach more correctly than others.. So be careful as some of the teachings are very complex and it is not a study for casual “church-goer” types)

Now, I ask you… If one takes away the proper book to decode prophecy.. What will be the result?

ERROR… of course!… Then, one might ask, how shall such codes be understood?

Well, Read yesterdays Blog regarding the “Deception” and you will see what results when people begin to use “western culture” to decode “eastern spiritual wisdom”.

To decode properly one must shift there mind from Western linier thinking to Eastern Esoteric thought.. A shift not too easy for those in the west who love to line up columns and boxes and who feel that all things move only in a straight line.

Realize that the Bible IS a series of books written in Eastern countries and in THAT mindset.. Attempting to decode them 2000 or more years later using our own westernized values and views is actually quite ludicrous and always will result in confusion, mistranslation, misunderstanding and error.

In my next blog on Bible Codes I will reveal some of the misconceptions in decoding prophecy and how to more clearly understand the “Names/Definitions Code” based on the motives of the prophets rather than the ideas of Western Dispensational thinking.

I am going to challenge and enlighten many of you when I reveal the original prophetic and allegorical MEANINGS of “Israel”, “Jerusalem” and “Zion” not as taught in most of today’s churches but as understood by those willing to actually study and learn the real key as intended by the prophets.

I don’t feel my views will be popular (Scripture predicts that most will call me a fool).

I am sort of a rebel.. A modern day spiritual Copernicus … since I am willing to take the heat of being branded a heretic by men to be right with God.. I believe my message I share is my duty, calling and purpose and you can agree or disagree but if I am right then what I will share with you on the next CODE blog may save you from having to endure a coming tribulation.

If you are waiting for a Rapture to come and take you before then may I give you a couple of homework assignments:

1) Go to Bible Gateway at www.biblegateway.com .. Pick your favorite version of the Bible and do a word search on TWO WORDS: A) “Rapture” and B) “Zion” . If a word is mentioned more than another word I think it can be safely assumed the word mentioned more times has greater important.. Right?

2) Read MATTHEW 24: verses 29 & 30 Carefully and tell me according to that Gospel “WHEN DOES JESUS CLEARLY SAY THAT THE SON OF MAN APPEARS IN THE HEAVENS?.. Pre, mid or post trib?

ZIONISM and CHRISTIAN ZIONISM is NOT BIBLICAL!
The reason there is a verse that says

Jeremiah 50:5a
They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward.

It is one of the many Zion verses that blatantly infers that people have forgotten how to find Zion and if Zion were in the Nation of Israel there would be no reason to ask.

Also before I depart for this Blog consider the song “We are Marching to Zion” sung in many churches. This song declares that Christians believe we must “Go” or “March” there.. Yet if the end is coming and I live here in the US am I to get a plane ticket and go to Israel.. The song itself and many verses declare that to avoid the Tribulation (of those end days) we must TAKE ACTION.. Not just stand and wait for God to “rapture us”.

Yes.. I pray I can reach even the 144,000 people God has promised will make it into Zion and avoid Tribulation.. To the rest of you WE WILL BE BACK TO PICK YOU UP after the messy part is over.. Care to join us in Zion or wait? It’s your choice.

For those of other faiths do not worry.. Zion (under many names.. See my list at www.wwjsnl.com ) is available to anyone and requires not much more than a belief in your inner calling and action to obey that inner calling (leap of faith …so to speak) . Admittance will be available to anyone who enters by faith and not “religion based“ at all.

The whole tribulation mess will balance things so those who now “get off” on feeling superior and looking forward to all the “bloody revenge” they think will be theirs to enjoy will be made low enough to understand the true LOVE that cannot wish harm on others for GOD IS LOVE.. And if there is vengeance it shall be upon those seeking revenge.

Would Jesus have a Blog? -

Isaiah 52:7 ESV
(7) How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns."

Would Jesus have a Blog if He was alive today? I wonder about that sometimes. Why did God pick such a time as He did to send His son to earth. Mass communications was not then what it is now. Jesus could have easily have been seen by all the world with our TV networks they way they are. He could have flown jets, cars and other things that would have gotten Him from place to place a lot quicker then foot or donkey power.

On the other hand we have grown into a people too civilized to have a death on a cross. I guess He could have had a lethal injection but that somehow does not convey the same suffering for us.

Back to the question at hand. Yes, I think He would. He never lost a chance to tell the 'good news' as Isaiah calls it. He would have taken every chance He could have to tell others about the Kingdom of Heaven.

That now brings another question. If we are the body of Christ, and Jesus told others the 'good news', what are you doing to tell the good news?

The STRONG DELUSION Is Already Here???!!!

The “Strong Delusion” of
DISPENSATIONALISM AND CHRISTIAN ZIONISM

“If ZIONISM is the will of God…Then God is a Racist!”
Jesus of Zion

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
2 Thessalonians 2:11 - The Bible

What is Zionism?

Zionism is an international political movement that originally supported the reestablishment of a homeland for the Jewish People in Palestine (Hebrew: Eretz Yisra'el, “the Land of Israel”), and continues primarily as support for the modern state of Israel.[1]
Although its origins are earlier, the movement was formally established by the Austro-Hungarian journalist Theodor Herzl in the late 19th century. The movement was eventually successful in establishing Israel in 1948, as the world's first and only modern Jewish State. Described as a "diaspora nationalism,"[2] its proponents regard it as a national liberation movement whose aim is the self-determination of the Jewish people.[3]

While Zionism is based in part upon religious tradition linking the Jewish people to the Land of Israel, where the concept of Jewish nationhood first evolved somewhere between 1200 BCE and the late Second Temple era (i.e. up to 70 CE),[4][5] the modern movement was mainly secular, beginning largely as a response by European Jewry to antisemitism across Europe.[6] It constituted a branch of the broader phenomenon of modern nationalism.[7] At first one of several Jewish political movements offering alternative responses to the position of Jews in Europe, Zionism gradually gained more support, and after the Holocaust became the dominant Jewish political movement.

What is Christian Zionism?

1. In general - support for Israel and Zionism among Christians.

2. Support for restoration of the Jews based on Christian religious doctrine.

3. A term of opprobrium used by anti-Zionist Christians to designate and stereotype a variety of Christian Zionism that is today generally identified with evangelical and dispensationalist Christians. That group believes in rapture and may believe in rapture. It also believes in "Greater Israel" ideology.

The vast majority of Christians who support Zionism and Israel are not fundamentalists. Moreover, not all evangelical Christian supporters of Israel believe in the characteristic doctrines of what has been called "Christian Zionism" - such as rapture and conversion of the Jews. "Christian Zionists" in the sense of Christians who support Israel, include Catholics as well as members of Protestant denominations. However, the term is generally reserved for members of Protestant denominations.

What is Dispensationalism? By Michael J. Vlach, Ph.D.

Introduction
Since the mid-1800s, the system of theology known as dispensationalism has exerted great influence on how many Christians view the doctrines of ecclesiology and eschatology. In this article, we will survey the history of dispensationalism and look at the key beliefs associated with the system.

History of Dispensationalism
Theologians continue to argue over the origin of dispensationalism. Those who are dispensationalists argue that the basic beliefs of dispensationalism were held by the apostles and the first generation church. Those who are not dispensationalists often argue that dispensationalism is a new theology that began in the 19th century. What is clear, though, is that dispensationalism, as a system, began to take shape in the mid-1800s.

1. John Nelson Darby The beginning of systematized dispensationalism is usually linked with John Nelson Darby (1800-1882), a Plymouth Brethren minister. While at Trinity College in Dublin (1819), Darby came to believe in a future salvation and restoration of national Israel. Based on his study of Isaiah 32,

Darby concluded that Israel, in a future dispensation, would enjoy earthly blessings that were different from the heavenly blessings experienced by the church. He thus saw a clear distinction between Israel and the church. Darby also came to believe in an “any moment” rapture of the church that was followed by Daniel’s Seventieth Week in which Israel would once again take center stage in God’s plan. After this period, Darby believed there would be a millennial kingdom in which God would fulfill His unconditional promises with Israel.1

According to Paul Enns, “Darby advanced the scheme of dispensationalism by noting that each dispensation places man under some condition; man has some responsibility before God. Darby also noted that each dispensation culminates in failure.” 2 Darby saw seven dispensations:

(1) Paradisaical state to the Flood;
(2) Noah;
(3) Abraham;
(4) Israel;
(5) Gentiles;
(6) The Spirit; and
(7) The Millennium.

By his own testimony, Darby says his dispensational theology was fully formed by 1833.

2. The Brethren Movement Dispensationalism first took shape in the Brethren Movement in early nineteenth century Britain. Those within the Brethren Movement rejected a special role for ordained clergy and stressed the spiritual giftedness of ordinary believers and their freedom, under the Spirit’s guidance, to teach and admonish each other from Scripture. The writings of the Brethren had a broad impact on evangelical Protestantism and influenced ministers in the United States such as D. L. Moody, James Brookes, J. R. Graves, A. J. Gordon, and C. I. Scofield.3

3. The Bible Conference Movement Beginning in the 1870s, various Bible conferences began to spring up in various parts of the United States. These conferences helped spread Dispensationalism. The Niagara conferences (1870—early 1900s) were not started to promote dispensationalism but dispensational ideas were often promoted at these conferences. The American Bible and Prophetic Conferences from 1878—1914 promoted a dispensational theology.

4. The Bible Institute Movement In the late 1800s, several Bible institutes were founded that taught dispensational theology including The Nyack Bible Institute (1882), The Boston Missionary Training School (1889), and The Moody Bible Institute (1889).

5. The Scofield Reference Bible C. I. Scofield, * a participant in the Niagara conferences, formed a board of Bible conference teachers in 1909 and produced what came to be known as, the Scofield Reference Bible. This work became famous in the United States with its theological annotations right next to the Scripture. This reference Bible became the greatest influence in the spread of dispensationalism.

6. Dallas Theological Seminary After World War I, many dispensational Bible schools were formed. Led by Dallas Theological Seminary (1924), dispensationalism began to be promoted in formal, academic settings. Under Scofield, dispensationalism entered a scholastic period that was later carried on by his successor, Lewis Sperry Chafer. Further promotion of dispensationalism took place with the writing of Chafer’s eight-volume Systematic Theology.

WHO WAS CYRUS I. SCOFIELD?:

HERE IS THE “SAFE” VERSION OF WHO SCOFIELD WAS
AS TAUGHT TO MANY BIBLE STUDENTS:

Biography - Dr. C. I. Scofield
by Daniel Stanfield

Dr Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (1843-1921) is undoubtedly best known today for the Scofield Reference Bible, but was instrumental in the promotion of premillennial dispensational doctrine across denominational lines. His explanations of Scripture in his study Bible are clear and systematic, effectively presenting his views.

Scofield was the seventh son of a farmer and raised by his stepmother. As a teen, he fought in the Civil War. He became a lawyer and was politically active in the state of Kansas, but resigned under allegations of corruption. Later, he became separated from his wife and his children, no longer practiced law, and has been described as a thief and a drunkard*. It was then, in 1879, when Scofield accepted Christ as his Savior, and immediately became active in the ministry, an activity which was to dominate his life from then on.

Scofield was originally a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in St Louis and worked with D.L. Moody. He was soon licensed to preach and began the Hyde Park Congregational Church there. In 1882, Scofield took a mission church in Dallas which he took from an attendance of 14 to over 400. It was here that Scofield was ordained, saw the finality of his divorce from his first wife, and also where he later married Hettie Van Wark. He hosted Moody’s 1886 Crusade, took office in the American Mission Society of Texas and Louisiana, and began to appear regularly as a speaker at Bible conferences. In 1888, Scofield published his landmark, “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth”, which explains pretribulation, premillennialism, and dispensationalism, which was very well circulated.

It was here that Scofield became increasingly involved with Bible institutes, as well as vigorous missions activity. He directed the Southwestern School of the Bible in Dallas and presided over the trustees at Lake Charles College. In 1890, Scofield founded the Central American Mission and began the Scofield Bible Correspondence Course. This study course formed the core which would go into the Scofield Reference Bible.
In 1895, Scofield left Dallas to join Moody in Massachusetts, where he presided over the Northfield Bible Training School, which Moody had founded. It was here that Scofield determined to create the Scofield Reference Bible. Scofield returned to Dallas, but he spent much time away as he worked on the Bible. The first edition was published in 1909, with a revision following in 1917. Some of Scofield’s latest works include the establishment of the New York School of the Bible, the Philadelphia School of the Bible, and the Douglaston Community Church.

While it is evident from the described activity above that Scofield was extremely active and successful in the ministry, what remains to be presented is the scope of his lasting impact on Christianity, especially in the areas of premillennial doctrine. The text outlines five specific areas in which Scofield made formative contributions.

Firstly, Scofield had enormous impact in the development of the Bible Conference movement. Scofield was a regular speaker at many conferences, including the Niagara conferences of the 1880’s and 1890’s, the Northfield conferences, beginning in 1887, and in the Sea Cliff conferences. Through these conferences Scofield had lasting effects on those who followed after. Secondly, Scofield was deeply invested in the creation and oversight of Bible Schools and Mission agencies throughout his life. Thirdly, Scofield was a prolific writer, and was a skilled teacher, making Bible study and doctrine clear to those who were willing to study with his lessons and notes. His most significant achievements here being his correspondence course, his pamphlet, “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth”, and his study Bible.

The impact of these works, especially considering the extent of publication of the Scofield Reference Bible, cannot be overstated. A fourth area of lasting contribution must be included, that is, a lifetime of relentless evangelical efforts under a clear, conservative, theology. While Scofield often emphasized premillennial and dispensational issues when teaching, he considered these doctrines to be strongly subservient to the doctrines of sin and redemption through Christ. One can hardly discount his investment in souls through his college and missionary activity, not to mention Scofield’s pastoral activity and his daily life. A final area of lasting contribution, noted by the text for Dr. Scofield, is that of his ability to encourage subsequent generations to continue in the works and traditions of the Bible conferences. A noted follower of Scofield was Lewis Sperry Chafer who was close to Scofield for twenty years. Chafer went on to found the Dallas Theological Seminary, and to write his masterpiece work, “Systematic Theology”.

NOW FOR THE UNCOMFORTABLE FACTS ..
(REMEMBER THE DARK PRINT ABOVE)?

Dispensationalists tend to cherish Scofield’s teachings without any concern whatsoever for what kind of man he really was.

For some reason, his admirers consider it unethical or possibly even contemptible to expose embarrassing little known secrets about the man. Facts should not be buried because they make people feel uncomfortable.

Neither C.I. Scofield nor his work are above reproach and considering the impact he has had on Christendom, his life should be examined. The type of person that he really was will have a major influence on the theology that he taught.

Former Dallas Theological Seminary President and student of Scofield’s theology John F. Walvoord, has written concerning the Scofield Reference Bible:

This edition of the Bible, which has had unprecedented circulation, has popularized premillennial teachings and provided ready helps of interpretation. It has probably done more to extend premillennialism in the last half century than any other volume. This accounts for the many attempts to discredit this work…The reputation of the Scofield Bible is curious because each succeeding writer apparently believes that his predecessors have not succeeded in disposing of this work once and for all. This belief apparently is well-founded, for the Scofield Bible continues to be issued year after year in greater numbers than any of its refuters.[i]

This is the general concensus among dispensationalist leaders that because his work is around in such great quantity it must be correct, so they plug it. These men, however, through their heavy promotion of Scofield’work, are largely responsible for the popularity of it (they exhibit circular reasoning).

When giving the qualifications of a bishop, Paul states in 1 Timothy 3:2,4

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

Did Scofield meet the qualifications for a leader in the church? His friends and colleagues have tried to hide the fact that he was married twice, had two daughters with his first wife and was divorced by her due to how he treated her and their daughters.

But it gets even more odd!

The World Zionist movement, as its Jewish founders called themselves, had plans to acquire a homeland for all Jews worldwide, even though most were far from homeless, and many did not want another home. Not any land would do. World Zionists wanted a specific property that American Christians called "the Holy Land." But if these Zionists read "Democracy in America" or any of the journals of any of America's churches, which no doubt they did, they could not help but know that Jerusalem was not theirs to have. As self-proclaimed Jews, they were, according to the Christian New Testament, the persecutors of Christ and most of his early followers, and the engineers of his crucifixion. America's traditional churches in the 19th Century would never stand for a Jewish occupation of Jesus' homeland.

World Zionist leaders initiated a program to change America and its religious orientation. One of the tools used to accomplish this goal was an obscure and malleable Civil War veteran named Cyrus I. Schofield. A much larger tool was a venerable, world respected European book publisher--The Oxford University Press.

The scheme was to alter the Christian view of Zionism by creating and promoting a pro-Zionist subculture within Christianity. Scofield's role was to re-write the King James Version of the Bible by inserting Zionist-friendly notes in the margins, between verses and chapters, and on the bottoms of the pages. The Oxford University Press used Scofield, a pastor by then, as the Editor, probably because it needed such as man for a front. The revised bible was called the Scofield Reference Bible, and with limitless advertising and promotion, it became a best-selling "bible" in America and has remained so for 90 years.

The Scofield Reference Bible was not to be just another translation, subverting minor passages a little at a time. No, Scofield produced a revolutionary book that radically changed the context of the King James Version. It was designed to create a subculture around a new worship icon, the modern State of Israel, a state that did not yet exist, but which was already on the drawing boards of the committed, well-funded authors of World Zionism.

Scofield's support came from a movement that took root around the turn of the century, supposedly motivated by disillusionment over what it considered the stagnation of the mainline American churches. Some of these "reformers" were later to serve on Scofield's Editorial Committee.

“I am NOT a ZionIST,,, I am a ZionITE.”
Jesus of Zion

Here is An odd quote from a PRO-Zionist website that clearly infers that “Anti-Zionism” is USUALLY equal to “Anti-Semitism”… THIS is clearly untrue considering there are Semite (Jewish/Hebrew) Rabbi’s who themselves are Anti-Zionist:

“Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism - Anti-Zionism is opposition to the existence of the state of Israel or the idea of reconstituting a Jewish homeland. It is not necessarily anti-Semitic, but it usually is so, especially when the complaints against Israel and "Zionists" include controlling the government of the United States, conspiring to take over the world, starting world wars etc. (see above for characteristics of anti-Semitic Web sites). Anti-Zionism is usually based on the premise that Jews are inferior or different from any other group of people, and therefore do not have the right to declare themselves a nation or people.”

A Timeline of Zionism with Inserts concerning Dispensationalist events

Historical Progression of Zionism

18th century: The German Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn initiates a Jewish secularism, which focused on Jewish national identity.

(NOTE: IN 1833 Darby says his dispensational theology was fully formed.)

1862: The German Jew Moses Hess publishes the book Rome and Jerusalem where he called for a return of Jews to Palestine. He also said that Jews would never succeed by assimilating into European societies.

1881: Pogroms of Russia result in heavy emigration to USA. Some few Jews even emigrates to Palestine, as they are motivated by religious ideas of Palestine as Jewish homeland.

1893: Nathan Birnbaum introduces the term 'Zionism'.

1896: The Austrian Jew Theodor Herzl publishes the book The Jewish State, where he declares that the cure for anti-semitism was the establishment of a Jewish state. As he saw it, the best place to establish this state was in Palestine, but this geography was no precondition.

1897: The 1st Zionist Congress is held in Basel in Switzerland. 200 delegates participates. The Basel Program is formulated, which calls for the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, where Jews could live safely under public law. The World Zionist organization is also established, and establishes its head quarters in Vienna, Austria.

1903: Britain offers an area of 15,500 km² in Uganda in Africa, an area of virgin land to the Jews of the world, where a Jewish homeland could be established.

1905: 7th Zionist Congress refuses Britain's Uganda proposal. Israel Zangwill forms the Jewish Territorial organization, which sought to find territory for a Jewish state, no matter where this would be. His organization got only few supporters. — After the Russian revolution is defeated, many young Jews emigrate from Russia.

(NOTE: C. I. Scofield, * formed a board of Bible conference teachers in 1909 and produced what came to be known as, the Scofield Reference Bible)

1917: The Balfour Declaration, issued by the British foreign secretary, gives official British support to the work on establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

1922: Britain gives The World Zionist organization the mandate to administer Jewish immigration and settlement in Palestine. This immigration and settlement was funded by American Jews.

(NOTE: In 1924 Dallas Theological Seminary dispensationalism began to be promoted in formal, academic settings)

1939: The British 'White Paper' gives the Arabs of Palestine de facto control over Jewish immigration.

1942: A call is issued from Zionist leaders for the establishment of a Jewish state in all of western Palestine, when World War II ends.

1948 May 14: The State of Israel is founded. The World Zionist organization continues to back Jewish immigration to Israel.

1970s: The World Zionist organization puts its muscles into helping Jews in the Soviet Union to emigrate to Israel.

1975 November 10: UN General Assembly passes Resolution 3379, in which Zionism is declared "racist", with 72 votes to 35 (32 abstentions).

1991 December 16: UN General Assembly revokes Resolution 3379, with 111 votes to 25 (13 abstentions).

Organizations Challenging Christian Zionism

1. Jewish Organizations Critical of Right Wing Christian and Jewish Zionist Positions
The Christian Zionist political agenda is in opposition to the desires of most Jews in both the U.S. and Israel. Consistently in most polls, the majority of Jews recognize the necessity of a political settlement with the Palestinians that would give them a viable state on the West Bank and Gaza Strip (in exchange, of course, for peace!). Most "settlers" on the West Bank are not religious settlers, but instead economic settlers who have moved there because of generous government incentives to do so. They would be happy to leave their settlements. There is a large Jewish "peace group" that favors drawing back to the 1967 borders.

Jews Against Zionism
Zionism, by advocating a political and military end to the Jewish exile, denies the very essence of our Diaspora existence. We are in exile by Divine Decree and may emerge from exile solely via Divine Redemption. All human efforts to alter a metaphysical reality are doomed to end in failure and bloodshed. History has clearly borne out this teaching.
Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions
Israeli group that helps Palestinians rebuild homes destroyed by the IDF.
Jewish Peace Fellowship

Neturei Karta International (Jews United Against Zionism)
Guided by the rabbis of our time and under the inspiring leadership of the late Reb Amram Blau, the Neturei Karta refuse to recognize the right of anyone to establish a "Jewish" state during the present period of exile. Churches for Middle East Peace
Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) is a coalition of 21 public policy offices of national churches and agencies -- Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant. CMEP began its work in 1984 out of the conviction that the policy perspectives and long Middle East experience of our member bodies should be more widely known in the public policy arena. We therefore seek to maintain an on-going dialogue with Congress, the Administration and the diplomatic community, to advance such concerns, assessments, and advocacy positions.

3. Palestinian Human Rights Groups
Holy Land Trust
Holy Land Trust promotes and supports the Palestinian community in its struggle on two fronts: achieving political independence through supporting the Palestinian community in developing nonviolent resistance approaches towards ending the occupation; and assisting it in building an independent Palestine that is founded on the principles of nonviolence, democracy, respect for human rights, and peaceful means of resolving conflicts.

“Does it not seem odd to anyone but myself that if Dispensationalism and Christian Zionism is truth that there is well over 1,800 years prior church history in which apparently this theological concept was not even discussed.. Yet today it seems to have become the most important theology held in conservative Christianity?”

A QUESTION FOR "SINNERS" TO DISCUSS

The word “sin” causes many people to immediately feel either intense guilt or anger. It is a word very often used in religious services and people are constantly reminded of the fact that they are “sinners”… yet, is sin not the very nature of man?

If not, then why do even non-spiritual people make errors or commit moral/ethical infractions?

If so, then why is man held “deathly” accountable for something that seems almost as natural as breathing?

What is “sin” anyway? Is man truly guilty of “just being human”? Is that fair?

Perhaps there is more to this “sin” thing than one might normally consider.. So first let’s look at an encyclopedia’s definition of “SIN”:
___________________________________________________________________________

SIN, in religion, unethical act.

The term implies disobedience to a personal God, as in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and is not used so often in systems such as Buddhism where there is no personal divinity.

In ancient Israel, besides personal sin there was national sin, usually idolatry; to regain God's favor the whole people had to be purified. Ex. 32–34. Crimes of a few might also be visited on all, but punishment of the criminals could avert this. Joshua 7.

Apart from original sin, Christianity and Islam have no developed idea of collective sin.

As to what constitutes sin, Christian ideas differ.

Some Christians divide human acts into good, indifferent, and bad; others regard all acts not positively good as necessarily sinful. Thus, some may think gambling is indifferent so long as no obligation is infringed, while others consider gambling wrong as such. The traditional view, presupposed by Christian asceticism, is that a major way to perfection lies in performing or in refraining from indifferent acts solely to please God.

The theory that no act is really indifferent is common among conservative “evangelical” Protestants. For Christians, the effect of sin may be twofold, since a sin is at once a rebellion against the omnipotent Creator, risking punishment (even hell), as well as a cause of the interruption of grace, a notion that was popularized in the Middle Ages, notably by the Cistercians in the 12th cent. and the Franciscans in the 13th. It is explicit in Western mysticism and in modern Roman Catholic teaching. Among Protestants it was typical of Martin Luther and John Wesley.

In Western theology (particularly Roman Catholicism) sins are mortal if committed with knowing and deliberate intent in a serious matter; other sins are venial.

Habitual sin is called vice.

Roman Catholics are required to confess individually all mortal sins (see penance).

The seven deadly, or capital, sins are:

1) pride
2) covetousness
3) lust
4) anger
5) gluttony
6) envy, and
7) sloth.

The sins that cry out to heaven for vengeance are willful murder (Gen. 4.10), the sin of Sodom (Gen. 18.20,21), oppression of the poor (Ex. 2.23), and defrauding the laborer of his wages (James 5.4). The sin of the angels (specifically of Satan) is pride.

The opposite of sin is virtue, but in Christian practice the opposite of sin is grace, i.e., the merits of Christ's virtues given to humanity. See atonement; baptism; ethics; purgatory.
_______________________________________________________________________

Indeed Sin (and the fear associated with it) figures prominently in the Bible and also within many other religions.

Paul (who wrote many of the letters to the early churches) admits his own problems with sin in the following verses:

______________________________________________________________________

ROMANS 7:13-35

“Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, working death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure. We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin. I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.”

“Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. So then it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.”

“Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am!”

“Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.”
_____________________________________________________________________

Wait, does this mean that SAINT Paul himself was NO SAINT?

Did he just admit that he himself is A SINNER?

Yes, my friends HE DID!

Not only that he basically says that his “flesh” serves (present tense) the law of sin.

What then is the “LAW OF SIN” and should we expect to be BETTER than Paul?

Can somebody actually be “sinless”?

Sin might be said to be a natural state of being human. Our inquisitive nature and desire to test the things that bind us will occasionally “miss the mark” of perfection as would be expected… BUT…

Here is something interesting to consider for those who claim to be forgiven of all sin by their faith.

What sins do you still carry once you are forgiven and does your faith teach that once you are forgiven you are still a “sinner”?

Christianity teaches that Jesus forgives all sins, past.. present.. and Future …through having a faith in Christ which (if one wishes to take this to it’s fullest) would mean that once forgiven you are now “FREE OF SIN”.. which would be to be “SINLESS”.

This, of course, should not be used as a license to just go about killing, raping and pillaging but it would appear that if a Christian asks for forgiveness that they are no longer guilty of Sin..

...Thus would they not then be "100% Sinless in the eyes of God" ?

This is a question worthy of discussion so I am going to let my readers NICELY DISCUSS (please no argument or harsh theological debate please) this.

The question is “ONCE FORGIVEN BY GOD OF YOUR SINS.. ARE YOU STILL GUILTY OF BEING A SINNER?”

The Parable of "THE BAGGAGE RACE" ( a vision)

THE PARABLE OF THE “BAGGAGE RACE”
(a Vision)

Once there were three men who engaged in a special race called “The Baggage Race”.

Before the starting gun sounded each man had a large heavy bag chained firmly to their leg and each was handed a hacksaw.

BANG!.. The race had begun.

The first man took his saw and began feverishly sawing away at the chain between he and the bag.

The second runner tossed his saw to the side and just started running.. Dragging the heavy bag behind him as though pretending it was not there.

The third man took a moment and thought about it… then he laid down the saw.. Picked up the Bag and carried it as he darted toward the finish line.

The first man lost because he spent the entire race trying to free himself from the bag.

The second man lost the race because in trying to pretend it was not there he still was stalled by its weight dragging along behind him.

The third man WON because he was not afraid to embrace his baggage and though cumbersome and heavy he did not let him stop him from the goal.

THE EMERALD TABLETS of Thoth.

The Emerald Tablet
The Emerald Tablet is one of the most revered documents in the Western World, and its Egyptian author, Hermes Trismegistus, has become synonymous with ancient wisdom. His tablet contains an extremely succinct summary of what Aldous Huxley dubbed the "Perennial Philosophy," a timeless science of soul that keeps popping up despite centuries of effort to suppress it.

The basic idea is that there exists a divine or archetypal level of mind that determines physical reality, and individuals can access that realm through direct knowledge of God.

The teachings of Hermes -- the Hermetic tradition -- is one of the oldest spiritual traditions in the world, and while no direct evidence links the Emerald Tablet to Eastern religions, it shares uncanny similarities in concepts and terminology with Taoism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. In the West, the tablet found a home not only in the pagan tradition but also in all three of the orthodox Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), and many of the most heretical beliefs of the Gnostics are also openly expressed in it.

Like the authors of the tablet, the Gnostics believed that direct knowledge of reality could be attained through psychological discipline and meditative exercises. They also shared a common view of the universe in which "All Is One," a pattern of creation and decay symbolized by the Ouroboros (the snake eating its own tail).

Without doubt, the Emerald Tablet was the inspiration behind many other esoteric traditions, including over 1,700 years of alchemy. Most medieval alchemists hung a copy of the tablet on their laboratory wall and constantly referred to the "secret formula" it contained. In fact, during the sixteenth century, Hermes Trismegistus was such a revered figure that there was a movement to have his teachings replace those of Aristotle in European schools.

Five hundred years later, the tablet's words are still held in the highest regard. "The Emerald Tablet is the cryptic epitome of the alchemical opus," noted Jungian analyst Dr. Edward Edinger, "a recipe for the second creation of the world." Ethnobotanist and consciousness guru Terence McKenna agrees, calling the tablet "a formula for a holographic matrix" that is mirrored in the human mind and offers mankind its only hope for future survival. "Whatever one chooses to believe about it," sums up John Matthews in The Western Way (Penguin 1997), "there is no getting away from the fact that the Emerald Tablet is one of the most profound and important documents to have come down to us. It has been said more than once that it contains the sum of all knowledge -- for those able to understand it."

However, there is one nagging problem with the Emerald Tablet: Nobody seems to know for sure where it came from, or who really wrote it.

Timeless Myths and Church Politics

Part of the problem trying to figure out the origins of the Emerald Tablet comes from the many legends that cloud its history. In one of the earliest of these fabled scenarios, Hermes was a son of Adam and wrote the tablet to show mankind how to redeem itself from his father's sins in the Garden of Eden. Jewish mystics identify the tablet's author with Seth, who was the second son of Adam. They credit him with writing the Emerald Tablet, which was taken aboard the ark by Noah. After the Flood, Noah supposedly hid the tablet in a cave near Hebron, where it was later discovered by Sarah, wife of Abraham.

Another version describes Hermes giving the tablet to Miriam, daughter of Moses, for safekeeping. She allegedly put it in the Ark of the Covenant, where it remains to this day. Occult historians generally agree that the tablet was found in a secret chamber under the pyramid of Cheops around 1350 BC.

Another interesting legend describes Hermes as a philosopher traveling in Ceylon in the fifth century BC. He found the Emerald Tablet hidden in a cave, and after studying it, learned how to "travel in both heaven and earth." This Hermes spent the rest of his life wandering throughout Asia and the Middle East teaching and healing. Oddly, the Hindu sacred book Mahanirvanatantra states that Hermes was the same person as Buddha, and each is referred to as the "Son of the Moon" in other Hindu religious texts.

Probably the only constant in all these legends is what the Emerald Tablet looked like. It is always described as a rectangular green plaque with bas-relief lettering in a strange alphabet similar to ancient Phoenician. It is made of emerald or green crystal, and the workmanship is exquisite. Caves, corpses, ancient Egypt, and secret wisdom are common themes in many of the stories.
The history of the tablet was further complicated when its alleged author became associated with the Corpus Hermeticum in the Middle Ages.

The seventeen treatises of the Corpus expand on the principles of the Emerald Tablet and appear to be records of intimate conversations between Hermes and his disciples. For over three centuries, they were thought by the Catholic Church to be very ancient and held in the highest esteem. The church fathers believed the Corpus Hermeticum lent support to Christian doctrines, and the documents were required reading for European scholars. Images of Hermes adorned cathedrals all over Europe, and to this day, a giant fresco dominates the Borgia Apartments of the Vatican that shows Hermes, adorned with Hermetic symbols, walking in the company of Moses.

So it caused a great scandal in 1614 when Protestant scholar Isaac Causabon declared these documents forgeries written by "semi-Christians" sometime between 200 and 300 AD. He based his conclusion on a linguistic analysis that dated the writings to that era. For the next two hundred years, the Hermetic literature, which had been embraced by the early followers of Christ, was condemned by Christians everywhere. Although it was not officially part of the Corpus Hermeticum, the Emerald Tablet suffered the fate of all writings attributed to Hermes and went underground in a variety of secret organizations such as the Rosicrucians and Freemasonry.

The reverence with which these diverse groups continued to hold the Emerald Tablet is exemplified in the following paragraph from the Morals and Dogma of Freemasonry: "He who desires to attain the understanding of the Grand Word and the possession of the Great Secret, ought carefully to read the Hermetic philosophers, and will undoubtedly attain initiation, as others have done; but he must take, for the key of their allegories, the single dogma of Hermes, contained in his Table of Emerald." There are other more veiled references to the Hermetic tradition in Freemasonry. For instance, their sacred name "Hiram Ibif" refers to the first Hermes (Hermes Ibis or Thoth), who, according to Masonic tradition, arrived "in the year of the world 2670."

Today, most scholars agree that the Emerald Tablet is separate from or predates the Corpus Hermeticum and was probably the inspiration for them, and in this sense, the Corpus really does contain ancient writings. "In the mystic sense," summarized the nineteenth-century French scholar Artaud, "Thoth or the Egyptian Hermes was the symbol of the Divine Mind; he was incarnated Thought, the Living Word -- the Logos of Plato and the Word of the Christians. So the Corpus Hermeticum really does contain the ancient Egyptian doctrine of which traces can be discovered from the hieroglyphics which still cover the monuments of Egypt."

Thrice Greatest Hermes

However, the question still remains: Who really wrote the Emerald Tablet and when?

New evidence started to turn up in the late nineteenth century, when new discoveries about Egypt and the deciphering of hieroglyphics suggested that the principles exposed in the tablet go back at least 5,000 years.

Some scholars suggested the date of origin for the Emerald Tablet to be around 3000 BC, when the Phoenicians settled on the Syrian coast. Phrases from the tablet, including references to the One Mind, the One Thing, and the correspondences between the Above and the Below, were discovered in many Egyptian papyrii, such as Papyrus of Ani and the Book of the Dead (1500 BC), the Berlin Papyrus (2000 BC), and other scrolls dating between 1000 and 300 BC. One early Hellenistic papyrus known as An Invocation to Hermes might refer directly to the Emerald Tablet and its author: "I know your names in the Egyptian tongue," it reads, "and your true name as it is written on the Holy Tablet in the holy place at Hermopolis, where you did have your birth."

That "true name" is the same name that all the Egyptian records point to as the author of the tablet: Hermes. But this person appears to have a threefold identity, which is why in the Latin translations of the tablet, he is called "Hermes Trismegistus" or "Hermes the Thrice Greatest." If we follow the strict genealogical order in the Egyptian texts, Hermes is the son of the Agathodaimon, the great Thoth, who is the Egyptian god of all learning and hidden knowledge.

According to those same texts, Hermes himself had a son, Tat, who was a scribe and lived in Alexandria around 250 BC. As mundane as all this sounds, there is something very disconcerting about the triple progression here. It descends from god to god/man to common man.

The Egyptians were the world's most accomplished esoteric symbolists, and it is possible that this triple descendancy is a clue to understanding the true nature of Hermes. Yet to unravel this clue, it is necessary to forsake the traditional archaeological approach. In the words of the tablet itself, we need to "separate the Earth from Fire, the subtle from the gross." Is it really possible to trace the origins of Emerald Tablet by moving to a higher level and following its spirit back through time? Could there be a grain of truth in the old legends that historians have ignored? In creating such a hyper-history, it is necessary to look at the psychology, philosophy, and beliefs of those associated with the tablet and the societies in which they lived.

Thoth: the First Hermes

There are tantalizing bits of evidence that suggest mysterious visitors came to Egypt over 12,000 years ago and brought with them a powerful spiritual technology, which they passed down to future generations in a time capsule of wisdom that became known as the Emerald Tablet.

The Book of What Is In the Daat, the Book of the Dead and other Egyptian funerary texts, and numerous rebirth texts refer to a remote epoch known as the "Zep Tepi," a time before the Great Flood when the godlike beings came to earth and established their kingdom in Egypt. They included Thoth, the "god" of science and mathematics, who is said to have written the Emerald Tablet and hid it in a pillar at Hermopolis to preserve it through the coming world deluge.
Thoth, who most sources agree was the "first Hermes," is impossible to categorize intellectually because he transcends anything we normally think about gods and men. Usually depicted as a man with the head of an ibis (a wading bird with a long curved beak), this Egyptian neter (archetypal power) seems a simple personification of the powers of mind.

He was said to be responsible for teaching men how to interpret things, arrange their speech in logical patterns, and write down their thoughts. As the inventor of hieroglyphics, Thoth instituted record keeping and founded the sciences of mathematics, astronomy, and medicine. However, there are subtle clues in the many alternative names for this God of Thought that suggest he really represents the ultimate archetype of the Word of God (the One Mind) creating the universe.

Thoth is called the "Source of the Word," the one god without parents who precedes all others. He is the "Soul of Becoming" whose creative willpower fashions reality. "What emanates from the opening of his mouth," says an ancient Egyptian text, "that comes to pass; he speaks and it is his command." As the "Reckoner of the Universe," Thoth is the source of all natural law; as the "Shepherd of Men" and "Vehicle of Knowledge," he is the higher mind in man that provides inspiration and inner knowledge.

According to the Ebers Papyrus, a 68-foot-long scroll on alchemy that is the oldest book in the world: "Man’s guide is Thoth, who bestows on him the gifts of his speech, who makes the books, and illumines those who are learned therein, and the physicians who follow him, that they may work cures." As the "Revealer of the Hidden" and "Lord of Rebirth," Thoth is the guide to alternate states of consciousness and initiator of human enlightenment. One of Thoth’s scrolls, The Book of Breathings, supposedly taught humans how to become gods through breath control.

Paradoxically, Thoth embodies the rational powers of the Sun as well as the intuitive, irrational energies of the Moon. The ibis is the Egyptian symbol for the heart, and, as "Recorder and Balancer," Thoth presides over the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, which determines who is admitted into heaven. Thoth is the final judge, who weighs individuals’ "true words," the innermost intent in all of our thoughts and actions.

Just before the Great Flood, Thoth preserved the ancient wisdom by inscribing two great pillars and hiding sacred objects and scrolls inside them. Egyptian holy books refer to these sacred pillars, one located in Heliopolis and the other in Thebes, as the "Pillars of the Gods of the Dawning Light." They were moved to a third temple where they later became known as the two "Pillars of Hermes."

These splendorous columns are mentioned by numerous credible sources down through history. The Greek legislator, Solon, saw them and noted that they memorialized the destruction of Atlantis. The pillars were what the historian Herodotus described in the temple of an unidentified Egyptian god he visited. "One pillar was of pure gold," he wrote, "and the other was as of emerald, which glowed at night with great brilliancy." In Iamblichus: On the Mysteries, Thomas Taylor quotes an ancient author who says the Pillars of Hermes dated to before the Great Flood and were found in caverns not far from Thebes. The mysterious pillars are also described by Achilles Tatius, Dio Chrysostom, Laertius, and other Roman and Greek historians.

In summarizing all the ancient wisdom and preserving it, Thoth the first scribe can be considered the true author of the Emerald Tablet. As a god, Thoth is the archetypal Hermes, the Hermes above, the first of three incarnations of Hermes Trismegistus.

Akhenaten: the Second Hermes

The "second Hermes" arrives on the scene sometime after the Great Flood. According to the Ebers Papyrus, such a person actually lived during the Amenhotep dynasty, and there is only one person who seems to have promulgated the spirit of the Emerald Tablet during those centuries. It was Amenhotep IV, who ruled from 1364 to 1347 BC. Shortly after he took the throne, he suddenly changed his name from Amenhotep (meaning "Amen is Satisfied") to Akhenaten ("He Who Serves the Aten").

His name change signaled his break with the powerful priests of Amen to set up a new monotheistic religion that recognized the sun as the One Thing, the source of all creative energy. The new Egyptian supreme god, called the Aten or simply "the Disk," was never personified like previous gods but was thought of as an abstract energy. Pictures of the Aten show the Disk with rays coming down from heaven and terminating on earth in hundreds of tiny hands.

"The Aten is Radiant Energy personified," wrote one twentieth-century Egyptologist, "that is to say, an all-pervading reality of an immanent character. Akhenaten deliberately brushed aside the distinction between the god, maker of the solar Disk, and the solar Disk itself, the distinction between creative energy and created matter. The Disk was, like all matter that falls under our senses, but a visible manifestation of something more subtle, intangible, everlasting -- its essence. And the heat and light, the energy of the sun, was the manifestation of that One Thing of which the visible flaming Disk was yet another manifestation."

Some occult authors have dubbed Akhenaten the "Extraterrestrial King," and there is no doubt he possessed alien features. He had a thin face and a massive elongated bald head supported by a spindly neck, and his drooping shoulders, pear-shaped torso, lack of musculature, and scrawny legs certainly made him look like a space traveler. Akhenaten was also very androgynous in appearance, and respected scholars have accused him of being a homosexual or a woman masquerading as a man.

Statues of Akhenaten have survived that show him naked with the breast of a woman and no male genitalia. It is known that this freakish pharaoh claimed one of the most beautiful women in the world as his bride, the lovely Nefertiti (whose family origins are still unknown to Egyptologists), and also shared the throne with a handsome young man by the name of Smenkhkare. Both of Akhenaten’s co-rulers shared the title "Beauty of All Beauties."

Although traditional history makes no mention of it, our hyper-history suggests that Akhenaten rediscovered the Emerald Tablet at the beginning of his rule as pharaoh. According to at least one ancient papyrus, without the writings of Thoth the larger pyramids could not be built, so a great search throughout Egypt was conducted until they were found.

Whether or not he found the tablet, Akhenaten stands as a candidate for the second Hermes because he tried to apply the tablet’s principles and spread its spirit throughout his reign. Known as the heretic pharaoh, he espoused the revolutionary concept of "living in truth" and acting in natural accord with cosmic principles that the tablet called the "Operation of the Sun." He referred to this universal ideal as Maat, which meant the "real thing" or absolute truth, the original will of the One Mind. The agent of Maat was the One Thing, of which the physical sun, or the solar Disk, was the physical expression.

Akhenaten's Hymn to the Aten is considered one of the best pieces of Egyptian lyric poetry ever discovered, and several scholars have noted its similarity in spirit to Emerald Tablet. A few lines reveal Akhenaten's passionate belief in the One Mind: "How manifold it is, what You have made yet hidden from the face of man. Oh One God, like whom there is no other, You created the world according to your desire, while You were alone: all men, cattle, and wild beasts, whatever is on earth, going on its feet, and what is on high, flying with its wings."

The principle of "living in truth" permeated every level of Egyptian society under Akhenaten. Most noticeable was the sudden change in the stiff and lifeless style that dominated Egyptian art. For the first time, Egyptian reliefs and paintings portrayed natural subjects such as plants and animals in exacting detail, and traditional scenes of sterile Egyptian society were replaced by such ungodly behavior as Akhenaten kissing his wife or bouncing his daughters on his knee. In another striking break with tradition, Akhenaten ordered the abandonment of the old capitol of Thebes and built a new capitol city, Akhetaten ("Horizon of the Aten"), on a desolate stretch of land along the east bank of the Nile near the modern Egyptian city of Asyut. Scandalously, villas in the 60,000-population city were constructed without separate quarters for men and women, and women in particular were treated with more respect there.

Yet for the disenfranchised patriarchal priests, Akhenaten might as well have been from another planet. After just seventeen years of rule, Akhenaten and Nefertiti disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and it seems likely that the former priests of Amen did away with them. Akhenaten was well aware of the brewing unrest among the priests but never hesitated spreading the precepts contained in the tablet. By some indications, one of those that took his ideas to heart was a man of god by the name of Moses. According to Exodus, Moses had fled to the land of the Kenites, which is what the subjects of Akhenaten were called. In the open court of the time, it can be assumed that Moses would have conferred with the pharaoh many times on behalf of his people. In Moses and Monotheism (1939), Sigmund Freud was the first to suggest that Moses appropriated the pharaoh’s idea of one supreme god and brought the new religion to the Jews. Perhaps all the legends linking Moses and tablet are not so far off.

In any case, the heretic pharaoh was eventually replaced by a ten-year-old boy. His given name, Tutankaten ("Servant of the Aten"), was changed to Tutankamen ("Servant of Amen") after Akhenaten’s murder. The child pharaoh was tightly controlled by fundamentalist priests, who restored the capitol to Thebes, destroyed the city of Akhetaten, and erased all traces of monotheism from Egypt. Unlike the magnificent golden mummy of King Tut, the bodies of Akhenaten and Nefertiti were never found. Archeologist Sir Alan Gardner surmised that Akhenaten’s body had been "torn to pieces and thrown to the dogs." The only written references to the Aten after the Akhenaten's death were enigmatic allusions that associated the Disk with the great Sphinx on the Giza Plain.

Apollonius: The Third Hermes

Our hyper-history continues with the life of another Egyptian pharaoh, a Greek who became pharaoh when he conquered Egypt in 332 BC -- Alexander the Great. As pharaoh, he gained access to all the treasures of Egypt, including the whereabouts of Hermes’ (Akhenaten's?) tomb. Convinced it was his destiny to reveal the ancient secrets, Alexander immediately headed across the Libyan desert to an ancient temple at Siwa near where the tomb was located. According to Albertus Magnus and others, that is where Alexander found the Emerald Tablet.

Alexander took the tablet and scrolls he found in the tomb to Heliopolis, where he placed the scrolls in the sacred archives and put the Emerald Tablet on public display. Construction of the city of Alexandria to house and study the Hermetic texts was begun immediately, and he assembled a panel of priests and scholars to prepare Greek translations.

According to esoteric historian Manly P. Hall, the mysterious Emerald Tablet caused quite a stir. One traveler, who had seen it on display at Heliopolis, wrote: "It is a precious stone, like an emerald, whereon these characters are represented in bas-relief, not engraved. It is esteemed above 2,000 years old. The matter of this emerald had once been in a fluid state like melted glass, and had been cast in a mold, and to this flux the artist had given the hardness of the natural and genuine emerald, by his art."

When Alexander left Egypt, it has been suggested that he took the original tablet with him and hid it for safekeeping before going on to conquer Babylonia and India. Meanwhile, copies of the tablet became primary documents at Alexandria, and according to some reports, scholars issued revised Greek translations in 290 BC, 270 BC, and 50 BC. Several papyrii in the British Museum mention a canon of Egyptian teachings that included the writings of Hermes that was still in existence at the time of Clement of Alexandria (around 170 CE).

Fortunately, before Alexandria's libraries were destroyed in successive burnings by the Romans, Christians, and Muslims, copies of the Emerald Tablet had made their way into Arabia and from there eventually reached Spain and Europe.
After Alexander died from a fever on his return from India, his body was interred in a tomb somewhere in the Egyptian desert, although to this day, no one knows where. Yet someone did discover the hiding place of the Emerald Tablet. It is said that a brilliant Syrian youth named Balinas found it hidden in a large cavern just outside his hometown of Tyana in Cappadocia. It was Balinas who absorbed the tablet’s teachings and once again brought them to light in the Western world.

The youth became known as Apollonius of Tyana (after Apollo, Greek god of enlightenment and brother of Hermes). Respected for his great wisdom and magical powers, Apollonius traveled throughout the world and eventually settled in Alexandria.

Unfortunately, Apollonius was a contemporary of Christ, and early Christians felt he was much too like their own Son of God. By 400 AD, every one of the scores of books Apollonius wrote in Alexandria and all of the dozens of temples dedicated to him were destroyed by Christian zealots. But Apollonius still stands as the third Hermes in our hyper-history, because he did more than any other person in the modern era to assure that the Emerald Tablet and its principles survived.

The earliest surviving translation of the Emerald Tablet is in an Arabic book known as the Book of Balinas the Wise on Causes, written around 650 AD and based on Apollonius’ Alexandrian writings. It also appears in the eighth century Kitab Sirr al Asar, an Arabian book of advice to kings. Another Arabic text, written by alchemist Jabir Hayyan around 800 AD, contains a copy of the Emerald Tablet and also gives Apollonius as the source. In all these texts, Apollonius describes finding the Emerald Tablet in the underground cavern in Tyana. He never claims credit for it, though he spent the rest of his life writing about it and demonstrating its principles to anyone who would listen.

What have we learned from our attempt at hyper-history? Can we even tell if the author of the Emerald Tablet was a man or a god? The answer down through the ages has always been both, and whether portrayed as man or god, Hermes is always the revealer of ultimate knowledge hidden to mankind. He is like a spirit who reincarnates through time to guide us in our struggle toward enlightenment. It is a tradition that goes all the way back to the first Hermes, the god Thoth, who was said to inspire people with direct perception of truth. "May Thoth write to you daily," utters the 3,500-year-old Papyrus of Ani.

****************************

List ye, O Man, to the deep hidden wisdom,
lost to the world since the time of the Dwellers,
lost and forgotten by men of this age.
Know ye this Earth is but a portal,
guarded by powers unknown to man.
Yet, the Dark Lords hide the entrance
that leads to the Heaven-born land.
Know ye, the way to the sphere of Arulu
is guarded by barriers opened only to Light-born man.
Upon Earth, I am the holder of the keys
to the gates of the Sacred Land.
Command I, by the powers beyond me,
to leave the keys to the world of man.
Before I depart, I give ye the Secrets of how
ye may rise from the bondage of darkness,
cast off the fetters of flesh that have bound ye,
rise from the darkness into the Light.
Know ye, the soul must be cleansed of its darkness,
ere ye may enter the portals of Light.
Thus, I established among ye the Mysteries
so that the Secrets may always be found.
Aye, though man may fall into darkness,
always the Light will shine as a guide.
Hidden in darkness, veiled in symbols,
always the way to the portal will be found.
Man in the future will deny the mysteries
but always the way the seeker will find.
Now I command ye to maintain my secrets,
giving only to those ye have tested,
so that the pure may not be corrupted,
so that the power of Truth may prevail.
List ye now to the unveiling of Mystery.
List to the symbols of Mystery I give.
Make of it a religion for only thus will its essence remain.
Regions there are two between
this life and the Great One,
traveled by the Souls
who depart from this Earth;
Duat, the home of the powers of illusion;
Sekhet Hetspet, the House of the Gods.
Osiris, the symbol of the guard of the portal,
who turns back the souls of unworthy men.
Beyond lies the sphere of the heaven-born powers,
Arulu, the land where the Great Ones have passed.
There, when my work among men has been finished,
will I join the Great Ones of my Ancient home.
Seven are the mansions of the house of the Mighty;
Three guards the portal of each house from the darkness;
Fifteen the ways that lead to Duat.
Twelve are the houses of the Lords of Illusion,
facing four ways, each of them different.
Forty and Two are the great powers,
judging the Dead who seek for the portal.
Four are the Sons of Horus,
Two are the Guards of East and West of Isis,
the mother who pleads for her children, Queen of the Moon,
reflecting the Sun.
Ba is the Essence, living forever.
Ka is the Shadow that man knows as life.
Ba cometh not until Ka is incarnate.
These are mysteries to preserve through the ages.
Keys are they of life and of Death.
Hear ye now the mystery of mysteries:
learn of the circle beginningless and endless,
the form of He who is One and in all.
Listen and hear it, go forth and apply it,
thus will ye travel the way that I go.
Mystery in Mystery,
yet clear to the Light-born,
the Secret of all I now will reveal.
I will declare a secret to the initiated,
but let the door be wholly shut against the profane.
Three is the mystery, come from the great one.
Hear, and Light on thee will dawn.
In the primeval, dwell three unities.
Other than these, none can exist.
These are the equilibrium, source of creation:
one God, one Truth, one point of freedom.
Three come forth from the three of the balance:
all life, all good, all power.
Three are the qualities of God in his Light-home:
Infinite power, Infinite Wisdom, Infinite Love.
Three are the powers given to the Masters:
To transmute evil, assist good, use discrimination.
Three are the things inevitable for God to perform:
Manifest power, wisdom and love.
Three are the powers creating all things:
Divine Love possessed of perfect knowledge,
Divine Wisdom knowing all possible means,
Divine Power possessed by the joint will of
Divine Love and Wisdom.
Three are the circles (states) of existence:
The circle of Light where dwells nothing but God,
and only God can traverse it;
the circle of Chaos where all things
by nature arise from death;
the Circle of awareness where
all things spring from life.
All things animate are of three states of existence:
chaos or death, liberty in humanity and felicity of Heaven.
Three necessities control all things:
beginning in the Great Deep, the circle of chaos, plenitude in Heaven.
Three are the paths of the Soul:
Man, Liberty, Light.
Three are the hindrances:
lack of endeavor to obtain knowledge;
non-attachment to god; attachment to evil.
In man, the three are manifest.
Three are the Kings of power within.
Three are the chambers of the mysteries,
found yet not found in the body of man.
Hear ye now of he who is liberated,
freed from the bondage of life into Light.
Knowing the source of all worlds shall be open.
Aye, even the Gates of Arulu shall not be barred.
Yet heed, O man, who would'st enter heaven.
If ye be not worthy,
better it be to fall into the fire.
Know ye the celestials pass through the pure flame.
At every revolution of the heavens,
they bathe in the fountains of Light.
List ye, O man, to this mystery:
Long in the past before ye were man-born,
I dwelled in Ancient Atlantis.
There in the Temple,
I drank of the Wisdom,
poured as a fountain of Light
from the Dweller.
Give the key to ascend to the
Presence of Light in the Great world.
Stood I before the Holy One
enthroned in the Flower of Fire.
Veiled was he by the lightnings of darkness,
else my Soul by the Glory have been shattered.
Forth from the feet of his Throne like the diamond,
rolled forth four rivers of flame from his footstool,
rolled through the channels of clouds to the Man-world.
Filled was the hall with Spirits of Heaven.
Wonder of wonders was the Starry palace.
Above the sky, like a rainbow of Fire and Sunlight,
were Formed the Spirits.
Sang they the glories of the Holy One.
Then from the midst of the Fire came a voice:
Behold the Glory of the first Cause.
I beheld that Light, high above all darkness,
reflected in my own being.
I attained, as it were, to the God of all Gods,
the Spirit-Sun, the Sovereign of the Sun spheres.
There is One, Even the First,
who hath no beginning,
who hath no end;
who hath made all things,
who govern all,
who is good,
who is just,
who illumines,
who sustains.
Then from the throne, there poured a great radiance,
surrounding and lifting my soul by its power.
Swiftly I moved through the spaces of Heaven,
shown was I the mystery of mysteries,
shown the Secret heart of the cosmos.
Carried was I to the land of Arulu,
stood before the Lords in their Houses.
Opened they the Doorway so I might
glimpse the primeval chaos.
Shuddered my soul to the vision of horror,
shrank back my soul from the ocean of darkness.
Then saw I the need for the barriers,
saw the need for the Lords of Arulu..
Only they with their Infinite balance could
stand in the way of the inpouring chaos.
Only they could guard God's creation.
Then did I pass ëround the circle of eight.
Saw all the souls who had conquered the darkness.
Saw the splendor of Light where they dwelled.
Longed I to take my place in their circle,
but longed I also for the way I had chosen,
when I stood in the Halls of Amenti
and made my choice to the work I would do.
Passed I from the Halls of Arulu
down to the earth space where my body lay.
Arose I from the earth where I rested.
Stood I before the Dweller.
Gave my pledge to renounce my Great
right until my work on Earth was completed,
until the Age of darkness be past.
List ye, O man, to the words I shall give ye.
In them shall ye find the Essence of Life.
Before I return to the Halls of Amenti,
taught shall ye be the Secrets of Secrets,
how ye, too, may arise to the Light.
Preserve them and guard them,
hide them in symbols,
so the profane will laugh and renounce.
In every land, form ye the mysteries.
Make the way hard for the seeker to tread.
Thus will the weak and the wavering be rejected.
Thus will the secrets be hidden and guarded,
held till the time when the wheel shall be turned.
Through the dark ages, waiting and watching,
my Spirit shall remain in the deep hidden land.
When one has passed all the trials of the outer,
summon ye me by the Key that ye hold.
Then will I, the Initiator, answer,
come from the Halls of the Gods in Amenti.
Then will I receive the initiate, give him the words of power.
Hark ye, remember, these words of warning:
bring not to me one lacking in wisdom,
impure in heart or weak in his purpose.
Else I will withdraw from ye your power
to summon me from the place of my sleeping.
Hark ye, remember, these words of warning:
bring not to me one lacking in wisdom,
impure in heart or weak in his purpose.
Else I will withdraw from ye your power to
summon me from the place of my sleeping.
Now go ye forth and summon thy brothers
so that I may impart the wisdom to light thy
path when my presence is gone.
Come to the chamber beneath my temple.
Eat not food until three days are past.
There will I give thee the essence of wisdom
so that with power ye may shine amongst men.
There will I give unto thee the secrets so that
ye, to, may rise to the
Heavens, God-men in Truth
as in essence ye be.
Depart now and leave me while I summon
those ye know of but as yet know not.
